1       In your seat of power you devise
         A carefree day or long and sleepless night.
         Whether it be to write or more to read, 
         Smashing our computers just to be freed.

5      One hundred pages, one thousand words, by Tuesday,
        Cite, analyze, take notes, your eyes you rub.
        And toil from all around, oh come it may,
        Till printer ink dries and the pencil is but a nub.

        Week in, week out, the weekend’s no reprieve
10    Following a trend from the higher ups.
        The board’s agreed, you’re underworked, you see?
        Our scores and averages have not yet reached a crux.
   
       “Victimized,” you say, hardly a trial.
14   To our marathon you hardly run a mile.
        Perspective is vile
